Powerful Revelation: God Wants Us To Be As Good As He Is

I recently had a conversation with one of my precious sisters in Christ and something struck me in the midst of it, something I never really vocalized, but when I did, I was blown away by this simple truth that isn’t taught to us. I thank God for this awesome truth and want to share it with you all:

My sister wrote:

But then technically aren’t we saying that we can be as good as god is?

I responded:

Remember, we were made in God’s image. Before Adam and Eve ate the fruit they were as pure as God. They had never sinned. And the bible actually says that’s what Christ came to [restore]:

“For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”-2 Peter 1:4

God WANTS us to be as good as He is. That’s why He even lives inside of us, giving us His own Holy Spirit, because when we become as good as He is, we will hate evil and love good.

It’s like my [future] kids for instance, I want them to be good. I don’t want them to ever sin. Sin isn’t good for them so of course I hope they don’t ever do it. God is the same. He wants to protect us and save us from sin completely because it only brings us death. And He loves us too much to have us walking towards death. He also loves others too much for us to go around hurting them because sin affects others too, not just us.

He wants us to escape from sin. Sin didn’t start in Eden. It started with Satan himself in heaven and God does NOT want His children under Satan’s leadership, because Satan just wants to kill, steal, and destroy. So God doesn’t want us like Satan in any way and that’s why satan hates us soooooo much: Because he wants to be like God. And what does God have? Children that are made in His image. So guess what, Satan wants to steal those children and have them be like HIM. But when we have the Holy Spirit and have Christ’s power in us, it’s A LOT harder for satan to make us sin like he does [he has to resort to trying to deceive us since we have died to our old nature. He has to whisper lies to us and twist Scripture to get us to fall].

We now have power over him and we are no longer his children so he hates us because we look like God now, pure and loving.

Remember Jesus called the Pharisees, “sons of the devil.”

And revelation says:

“And the dragon [satan] was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”(‭Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭17‬ NKJV)

And John says:

“And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.”-‭I John‬ ‭2‬:‭28-29‬ to ‭I John‬ ‭3‬:‭1-10‬ NKJV

That’s what happens when we ecclesia :)) when two believers deliberate God’s Word, iron sharpening iron, rather than just sitting in a pew and being spoon-fed for an hour, genuine revelation happens. Please children, let us heed the command to be “diligent students of the word, ” that we may not be deceived by popular doctrine contrived by sinful men and received by demonic spirits who infiltrated the church and tainted truth.
