Is Christianity the Most Beautiful Religion?

Christianity is soooo beautifully simple AND practical!

If one were to just read the book of Matthew or John to see what Jesus said and did, or read one of Paul’s letters to the early church, Colossians, or Philippians, you’d see how…different Christianity is from other religions which are huge on either mystical, elusive, and abstract concepts and thoughts, or food-chain, climb-the-ladder type exaltation of participants, or severe bodily rejection and repetitious, ritualistic behaviors.

But not Biblical Christianity. Not the Christianity you find when you read the New Testament. The admonition and commands on how we ought to love one another and what that looks like practically are just so easy to grasp and refreshing and totally sensical and observable.

Indeed, it’s not like, dare I say, reincarnation, a mystical, never before observed idea. Even Christianity’s claims of resurrection from the dead has been observed time and again throughout history with people praying in Jesus’ name for life to return to someone who died and then it does.

So all this to say, I love the whole of Christianity, of what its Founder, Jesus, teaches. If there is anything more beautiful, more good for mankind, please, show me. It is for such teachings as these that I am totally unashamed to say I follow Jesus and His ways as recorded in the Bible:

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” –‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:12-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Don’t worry about what people may think if you proclaim to be a Christian. There’s nothing to be ashamed of. Our God is so good and wonderful. Get to know Him better so your confidence in that fact can be assured and you can more boldly share His love unabashedly with others. At the end of the day, it isn’t about whether or not someone likes you, it’s whether or not you loved Jesus and that person despite.

A Quick Word of Wisdom from God

And so what happens when you speak first and read the Bible second; God is like, actually, you need to do this instead:

Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return.
Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt.
 So don’t bother correcting mockers;
    they will only hate you.
But correct the wise,
    and they will love you.
 Instruct the wise,
and they will be even wiser.
Teach the righteous,
and they will learn even more.-Proverbs 9:7-9

And so that is my biblical/God-given wisdom to share with you today. Though sometimes your mind is in disbelief, you know the truth, and just wanna shake some people and be like, “Snap out of it! You’re destroying yourself!” God would rather you spend that time and effort correcting the wise and those who actually want to follow Him instead. For to whom much is given, even more will be added to them. If you seek to understand God and obey His commands, He makes you all the wiser.

The Real Reason Why A Man Pushing Premarital Sex Doesn’t Love You

Ladies, if a “Christian” man intends on and expects to have sex before marriage, he does not really love you, and you may not have considered this as the reason why. Stay put; it’s about to get deep.

“Finally then, brothers, we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you must walk and please God — as you are doing — do so even more.

For this is God’s will, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality, so that each of you knows how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not with lustful desires, like the Gentiles who don’t know God. This means one must not transgress against and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger of all these offenses, as we also previously told and warned you. For God has not called us to impurity but to sanctification. Therefore, the person who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who also gives you His Holy Spirit.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:1, 3-8‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

The man who purposes to have sex with you before marriage is rejecting God by refusing to abstain from premarital sex. He is rejecting Christ which means if he dies today, according to scripture, he will go to hell:

“Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers … will inherit God’s kingdom.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:9-10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

It’s much deeper than many of us realize. So much of pagan and idol worship involves sex outside of the covenant of marriage. Having sex with temple prostitutes and orgies were popular forms of “worship” and here is why:

God ordained marriage to display the beautiful, holy, intimate relationship He has with His bride the Church. In the bible, the word used for when a man makes love to his wife is “yada.” It is a deep “knowing” hence the reason the bible usually translates it in ways like this, “and Isaac *knew* Rebecca.”

That same word is used often by God when He tells us He will cause us to “know” Him.

“I will take you to be My wife forever. I will take you to be My wife in righteousness, justice, love, and compassion. I will take you to be My wife in faithfulness, and you will know Yahweh.”
‭‭Hosea‬ ‭2:19-20‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

God is all about creation pointing back to Him, glorifying Him. The union of a married couple is supposed to help us understand the way God desires us to deeply know and love Him, just as we are deeply loved and known by Him.

Satan, God’s enemy, the fallen angel who hates Jesus more than anyone, as an act of defiance toward Him, takes pleasure in profaning God’s creation, in profaning everything, but ESPECIALLY marriage. Satan warps the creation of true, sacred marital oneness (“sex” as the world calls it), and makes it as vile as possible, hence pornography, rape, homosexuality, beastiality, orgies, etc.

But with Christians, he needs to be much more crafty and less flamboyantly profane to lure them into his trap. Satan’s mission: seduce God’s children whom God loves immeasurably and died to save, trick them into having premarital sex so they can be his greatest weapons to crush God’s heart. After luring a Christian to reject the Holy Spirit and walk into his grasp, engaging in sex outside of God’s covenant of marriage, Satan peers up into the fiery eyes of Jesus and says, “look at Your children. Look at how much they love You.”

Beloved, do not ever let yourself become a flaming arrow in Satan’s hand used to pierce Christ’s heart and trample and spit upon His sacrifice. He died so you can be free from sin, not so that you can keep following Satan.

“But anyone joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Run from sexual immorality! “Every sin a person can commit is outside the body.” On the contrary, the person who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:17-20‬ ‭‬‬

I’m 8 Days Away From My Due Date

I’m set to deliver me and sir Jonathan’s first child on February 21st. If I write all the ways God has provided, and all the prayers He’s answered, this post would be at least 10,000 words long. But here are some:

-Jonathan got a second job for a Christian ministry
-I didn’t have morning sickness
-We got blessed with three baby showers
-We have all the essentials; strollers, car seat, bassinet, baby clothes, diapers, baby wipes to last months, pediatrician who’s five minutes away
-All the nursery wants/needs have been gifted to us; changing table, crib (eventually), crib mattress, lamp, crib mobile, sheets, the cute forest animal-themed decorations we wanted
-We haven’t paid for anything for baby out of pocket, not even my prenatal visits
-We got blessed with a new, quality brand-name mattress (ours has been marked in several places by two different dogs and was causing me pain)
-We were working toward getting out of debt and had $500 left that we owed Jonathan’s dad and then randomly received an unexpected check for $500 in the mail. We’re now debt-free
-Jonathan was approved for not one, but six weeks off paid from his higher paying, longer-hours job to bond with baby

God truly is our provider. He has certainly blessed us incredibly and answered so many prayers. I’m blown away by His love and provision, and by His great care for His daughter and son. All the details He paid attention to, even giving unnecessary blessings. He has fiercely protected me and the baby from enemy attacks, and though I’ve become extra clumsy thanks to the increase in hormones, I haven’t fallen once in my entire pregnancy. Every time I stumbled (which was often), His angels caught me.

I just wanted to encourage you all to pray about everything that concerns you, casting your anxieties on Him because He truly does care for you—practically beyond comprehension.

It’s so vital for us to grasp the depth of His love for us and how much we do not deserve it. As we pray for that revelation, we will be compelled to truly surrender all to Him, to live for Him and obey Him because we genuinely love Him and are so grateful for all He has graciously done for us.

I pray a greater understanding of Christ’s love and worthiness to be worshipped is revealed to you that you may offer up your life—the life He’s loaned to you—for nothing but His glory.

Grace and love to you,

Natasha

Why Do All My Relationships Fail?

demetrius-washington-1596242-unsplash

Wanting to be wanted. I’ve been there. I used to dress sexy. Ironically, I was trying to reel in “the one” but all I was reeling in were sharks, toads, and wolves. Little did I know, my outer appearance displayed a very different message to the men crossing my path. I remember once I was in the mall and a group of men started yelling about my behind. Though I had specifically chosen to wear those skin-tight jeans because I thought they made my bottom look bigger, I got so angry at their attention. I cussed and yelled at them, but really, I had spurred them on with my attire. How I was dressed sent the message: treat me like I’m an object for your pleasure, rather than a woman who is worthy of respect.

Now my heart breaks when I see women doing the same thing I used to do, hoping they’ll find love someday. I’m sure like I experienced, they keep getting let down. They’re going about finding a man in all the wrong ways yet wondering why it never works out.

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:30)

I remember really liking this young man when I was in high school. During an online conversation, based on my sexy profile pics, he felt comfortable enough to tell me he had masturbated to my photos. I was quite disgusted. Here I was thinking he could become a long-term boyfriend, yet he was already thinking about having sex with me because of my photos. He wasn’t thinking long term at all.

I had another boyfriend who was also pretty honest. This guy knew I was a virgin and didn’t want to be intimate, and so he told me he’d try really hard to wait. He waited two weeks and then dumped me.

As you can imagine, I was pretty discouraged about my vicious relationship cycle: frog after frog. No guy could love me like I loved them. I remember looking in the bathroom mirror and saying, “I’m never going to get married. I’m just meant to be single the rest of my life.”

A year or so later I gave my heart to the Perfect Man: Jesus. He not only healed my broken heart, but I suddenly had hope again that I would someday marry. I just knew that I would one day, and that until then, I would wait. It wasn’t but two weeks later that I met Jonathan, the man who is now my husband. He feared God and loved Him. The first four months of our relationship, we didn’t know how to protect ourselves from temptation, and stumbled more than once. We’d always cry and feel terrible, do good for a while, then mess up again. But God knew we didn’t want that for our relationship. We knew it was wrong and desperately wanted to please God.

During that time, God persisted in trying to tell me about courtship, but I kept forgetting. After going on a mission trip, everything changed. God put a pastor in my life who would eventually become a mentor to Jon and I, and the Lord had a Christian sister give me a book on courtship. We now had the wisdom on how to stay pure until marriage, and by God’s grace and Holy Spirit, we overcame. I’m very blessed and beyond thankful to say that although I wasn’t completely untouched until marriage, I was a virgin until my wedding night.

I know not everyone reading this is a virgin, but do not believe the lie that you are now damaged goods. When you repent, Christ sees you as a new creation, His pure daughter who He indeed wants/commands his son to wait for until marriage. God wants to protect your purity, to guard your heart until the right time. He doesn’t condemn premarital sex and all other forms of sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman for no good reason. He does it because He loves us and knows what’s best for us. If you think you know better than God, that’s some serious pride, and God resists the prideful but gives grace to the humble. If you agree with God’s word, which says fornicators won’t receive the kingdom, and you desire to obey Him because you know He is worthy of your devotion and love because of all that He’s done for you, He will lovingly guide and teach you how to please Him.

I pray you surrender to the only Man who has died for you to make a way for your forgiveness, freedom and redemption, so that He can spend eternity with you and you with Him, basking in His joy and love. No man will EVER love you as much as Christ does, though a true Christian man can love you like He does and seek to honor God by honoring you.

So please ladies, if you are stuck in the cycle I was in, I pray you repent. Trust me, going about relationships the way Hollywood tells you to simply doesn’t work. You’re only going to keep wounding and scarring your heart. Let Jesus heal you like He healed me. The only thing you’ll regret is not having done so sooner.

This Trial Is Dragging Me Down, But This Is My Certain Hope

Precious sisters, when trials got you down, I beg you to remember God’s lavish goodness toward you and I:

To the temporary residents dispersed in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ … According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭1-5‬)

I know when we are going through a trial the days can seem longer, but remember that at any moment that day can end and you will receive the inheritance Christ has been storing up for you in heaven—the best of which is Himself!

When you are struggling, imagine that face-to-face meeting when you will fall to your knees before His glorious, shining presence, and He will take His nail-scarred hand and gently wipe your tears away. Then with that beautiful hand, He takes yours and leads you to living crystal waters, as Revelation describes. After you drink from that incredibly refreshing spring, you turn to Jesus and He extends a smooth stone to you. On that stone is a special name, one you haven’t known, but that He’s always called you. The name lights up your heart with even more joy, though you didn’t think it was possible to be any happier. Then He smiles at you and gestures toward a gorgeously lush tree with twelve kinds of fruit and tells you to have your share. All the while, everything around you is teeming with light and life and vivid colors and fascinating sounds you’ve never seen or heard on earth. Surrounding you is a vast number of your fellow brothers and sisters, all rejoicing to finally be home with their Father, Friend, and King.

This isn’t a fantasy. This is a reality. We are pilgrims in this broken, sin-sick world. This is not our home. Our home is nothing short of awesome. Live with home on your mind, where Christ waits to blow your mind.

Love you sisters.

You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith — more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire — may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be serious and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. But as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy. And if you address as Father the One who judges impartially based on each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your temporary residence. For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. He was chosen before the foundation of the world but was revealed at the end of the times for you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. (‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭6-9, 13-21‬ HCSB)

How To Become Complete In Christ’s Love

But whoever keeps [Christ’s] word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked. (‭1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭5-6‬)

The love of God can be perfected in us, and it needs to be. Jesus warned that near the end, “the hearts of many will grow cold.” He also said, “The world will know you are My disciples by the way you love one another.”

Love is the greatest witness of Christ. It doesn’t matter how much you tithe, or attend church service, or evangelize; without love, you’re not really effecting anyone or pleasing Yahweh.

Paul said, “the love of Christ compels me.” This is what sets apart the true Christian from the false one. All these “Christian” cults get incentives for preaching; heavenly rewards or even works-based salvation. They don’t go preaching because they truly love the lost and want them to know Christ. But when we allow Christ’s love to consume us, our witness is powerful. We look into the eyes of precious souls and they see and even sense the love of Jesus. They may not convert on the spot because it’s the Holy Spirit’s job to do the converting, but they’ve been touched by God.

In the beginning of my walk with Jesus, I was so ablaze with passionate love. I didn’t care what people thought; I just wanted them to know the incredible love I was daily experiencing. Yes, many thought I was a little crazy, but then they themselves ended up coming to Christ.

Many Christians are shy about sharing their faith. They want boldness, but they can’t muster it. Makes sense: boldness cannot be created from nothing. Boldness and passion are by-products of love. When you just pursue Jesus, wake up and praise Him for all He’s done, get into His Word, pray to Him, be intimate with Him, just draw close to Him, your love grows. And that love will compel you to share Christ with others.

When I first started following Christ, I would pray that He’d help me fall more in love with Him. He honored that prayer! I myself need to start praying that again, for a greater understanding of His love so that I may always be complete in Him and a powerful witness.

Ladies, if you are in a relationship or married, remember how much you pursued spending time with and getting to know that man? You made time to be with him and even put your friends and family on hold so you can just hang with this guy. I know I did that with Jonathan. We saw each other five to six times a week I would say and hang out for hours. Then, when we weren’t together, we were always talking on the phone or texting.

We need to do that same kind of intimate pursuit with Jesus. Then we will really grow in our love for Him and we won’t lack a thing. We will be so content, so filled with joy, people will think we’re crazy, but they won’t be able to deny the love. So what are we waiting for? Let’s start passionately pursuing Christ today.

Praying for you,

Natasha
